HOW TO GET THROUGH FINALS WEEK- sincerelykenz

Blogmas day two- we made it! As I stated in yesterday’s post, I won’t be blogging about strictly Christmas type of topics. Thus, I am here today to give you all some insight on how to rock your finals week. With that being said, let’s jump right into it:

 

The dreaded finals week is almost upon us and I’m not so sure if I’m ready for it. Finals week is the time to study your hardest and try your best to end the semester on a high note. Finals week is your last chance to show your professors what you got! This is also the time when some people (aka me) are drowning in coffee, stress eating family size bags of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, and getting little to no sleep for 10 days straight. Although finals are important, so is your sanity.

 

Here are a few tips and tricks to get yourself, and your sanity, through finals week:

 

ACTUALLY STUDY:

It’s easy to let the stress of finals eat away at the time you should be utilizing to study for the finals themselves. Make a list of everything you have to do and get it done! Make a plan of what you need to study on what days and stick to it. Find a quiet place where you aren’t distracted and look over your notes, take practice quizzes, etc. My college’s final week is set up a little different than others; we have the day before finals week off. This is called a “study day”, and is one last free day before all of the tests officially begin. I use this day to plan out my life for the following weeks. I make sure I am aware of what tests I have when, and where I need to be to take them. I also use this day to organize all of my notes and create review guides for all of my classes.

 

TRY YOUR BEST TO KEEP UP WITH YOUR REGULAR DIET:

While ordering a pizza every night of finals week may be ideal, it’s important to remember that your health is just as important as the grades that you are trying to achieve. Hit the gym to relieve some stress and eat ya’ veggies! Your physical and mental health is important during finals week, don’t forget that.

 

REMEMBER WHY YOU ARE IN SCHOOL:

Debating whether or not you should study or head out for a night on the town? Be sure to remember that you are at school to get an education, not to slack off with your friends. Most college educations are not cheap. I don’t know about you, but I personally don’t think receiving poor grades on finals would be worth all of the money needed to pay for college. After all, flunking on all of your finals would be a huge waste of money and time.

 

BELIEVE IN YOURSELF:

If you repeatedly tell yourself that you are going to fail your test over and over again, it will be prevalent in the grade that you receive. Think positive and tell yourself that you are going to do great. Be confident! A lot of times, the grades you receive may surprise you!

 

LOOK ON THE BRIGHT SIDE:

Okay, so you think that your head is going to explode from all of the studying that you are doing right now, but at least you will be home soon! Most colleges have a long break after finals week so get excited for that! Cram now and lounge later.
