Posting on a Saturday….. whaaaaaat?! I had a few technical difficulties with my little corner of the internet yesterday but I really wanted to get yesterday’s post up as soon as possible. Thus, here I am blogging on a Saturday.
I recently took on another job at a local bagel place that opened up near my house. I now know how to make egg sandwiches, make heroes, and butter/cream cheese bagels. All of which are great things to add to the set of skills that I already have 😉 . My usual summer job is at an ice cream shop in a town over from mine. I have been working there for a while and basically am a professional ice cream scooper. But life is expensive and I’m saving up to study abroad so I figured that a second job wouldn’t be the end of the world. Juggling two jobs, a blog, and a crazy bunny sounds a bit hectic but so far it has worked out in my favor. I even managed to get two days off last week, which were both very well spent.
On one of my days off last week, Wednesday, I hung out with Rob. We went for a delicious lunch with my Grandma at a cute lil’ breakfast cafe and then we headed to an arboretum. Which by the way, who knew that an arboretum was just a bunch of trees… not this girl. The arboretum was located on the same property as a massive mansion that used to be owned by some dude a very long time ago. The arboretum itself was lined with pathways and benches, it was beautiful.
Thursday was my second day off last week. My best friend Alessia and I decided to spend the day in NYC to celebrate her birthday. This day was absolutely awesome, we learned how to use the subway system (except for one mix up when we got lost in Brooklyn), waited two hours for some milkshakes, and went boating in Central Park. We even managed to make our way over to Times Sqaure at the end of the day.
These milkshakes are from BlackTap, a small restaurant in the Meat Packing Industry. Believe it or not, we waited 2 hours for these! The restaurant was actually very small, and we had to stand to drink them because there were not enough seats. The shakes were good but I definitely think that the place itself is a bit overrated.
15 pounds later, we decided to head over to Central Park. This is where we accidentally took the wrong train and somehow ended up in Brooklyn. We eventually made it to our destination and had so much fun! Rowing a boat is a LOT harder than it looks, this was definitely my workout for the day.
Did you do anything fun last week? I would love to hear from you in the comments below!
