I officially moved into my sophomore living space last weekend. Last year I was in a “double” dorm room, which was basically just two roommates in a room. Unfortunately, all double rooms at my school don’t come with bathrooms, so our whole floor has to share one :(. This year I am living in a “quad” dorm room. A quad comes equipt with two “double” rooms, connected with a common room. Unfortunately, I still have to share a bathroom with my whole floor. Although the whole bathroom thing sucks, the common room is a really nice addition.
Not gonna lie, last year my dorm was a little bit all over the place. I had a few different colors going on and pictures literally plastered all over every wall:
This year I decided that I wanted to stick with a bit of a theme. I definitely took the more “simple” route when I went about decorating my room this year. I picked up this gray duvet cover as well as this white throw blanket from Target. The pillows are from a few different stores. The blue “dream” pillow was from Marshalls, the white smaller pillow was form Peir 1 Imports and the HUGE white pillow was from Home Goods. Which by the way, was only 11 dollars!
Continuing on with the simplistic theme, I picked up these three picture frames from Dollar Tree (one of my all time favorite stores… no really Dollar Tree rocks). My dad spray-painted them white for me so that they matched the beautiful picture holder that my best friend, Alessia made for me.
I also picked up this cutesy little rug from Target.
My favorite part of my room this year probably has to be this star light that I ordered online from Urban Outfitters. I think it’s so different, but goes well with the room nicely.
As far as other odds and ends go, they’re probably from stores such as Wal-Mart, Target, or Bed Bath & Beyond (some of them I bought last year, so I honestly don’t remember).
Moving on to the best part of the whole rooming situation- the common room!
Our rug(similar) is from Home Depot and our futon is from Wal-Mart. The cutest thing about the common room is definitely the tapestry and the little coffee area! The tapestry is from Urban Outfitters and the cubicle coffee area is from Bed Bath & Beyond (one of my quad mates bought this a cubicle a couple years ago, so I couldn’t find the link!)
