Traveling Survival Tips You NEED To Know

must have traveling tips- sincerelykenz

Happy Friday party people! I am so excited that it’s the weekend. I’ll be visiting my best friend from college today and could not be any happier because I have only seen her once this whole summer!

Today’s post is a bit different, but is still awesome because come on guys, how could I post anything less than awesome on this blog. Today’s post is actually from guest author Emily Saunders. I got a lot of love from my recent study abroad posts so I figured this guest post would be the perfect fit for my blog. Enjoy!

Lets face it airports are the least interesting part of our holiday. They are stressful, busy, and if you have to wait for a long time, very boring. The number of people using airports is increasing every year with Hartsfield- Jackson Atlanta International recording a record breaking 96.1 million passengers in 2015.

In this post, we will look at ways to make your time spent in airports less stressful and more enjoyable during these long waits.

When traveling abroad, most people worry about missing their flight. We’ve all done the scheduling in our brains only to find that we are still packing when we should already be on our way to the airport! The best way to start your journey stress-free is to pack beforehand. There is nothing better than waking up for a long journey worrying only about what you’re going to have for breakfast.

Another trouble some of us have is worrying about the losing time when it comes to parking your car at the airport, and how you will be able to get to the airport in the first place. To reduce stress and save time when parking your car, Parking4Less recommends valet parking as the most convenient option for travelers when arriving in the UK. This type of service is available at literally all major airports across the world. This ensures that you are not wasting time looking for a parking space if you are running behind schedule. If the airport you’re using has a direct train line this is also a quick way to get from the city center to the airport terminal you’re departing from.

Checking in

There are many ways to prepare for checking in that will make your time at the airport less stressful. The first is to check-in online during the 24 hours before your flight, according to USA Today Travel. According to USA Today Travel, the benefits of this are huge and you will be surprised how many people don’t take advantage of it! Not only do you get to choose your seat but also it speeds up the time spent at the check-in desk (although unfortunately, it can’t speed up the time in the line waiting for the person in front who didn’t check-in online, haha).

Surviving the Wait

You get past security with no problems only to see that your flight is delayed or your layover is something like 8 hours late…. what are you going to do!? One trick many people miss is to enquire about airport lounges. This is because we think you have to be VIP to enter, yet many lounges offer reasonable rates to use all the facilities states Grrrl Traveler including showers, buffets, and Wi-Fi. Another tip is to use the terminal as a shopping trip. If you need a new set of headphones or camera wait until you get into the terminal to buy one at duty-free price. With a bit of preparation, you can turn your wait into a shopping spree and save money.

I hope you all enjoyed this article and can use it to your advantage in your future traveling instances! A big thank you once again to our guest poster today!
