Hey guys! I hope you are all having an awesome Monday and for some of you who are starting class today, I hope you make it out alive.
As you would know if you read my post I uploaded on Friday, my parents moved me back into school this past weekend. Unfortunately, today was my first day of classes. I started the day off bright and early with my first class at 8 a.m. But don’t worry; I am here to tell you that 8 a.m.’s aren’t as horrible as they come off to be. I promise I will back up this statement.
Although waking up early can be a huge negative for some people, starting the day that early allows you to be extremely productive. A ton of people I know hit the gym right after their 8 a.ms. Because it’s so early, the gym is usually not crowded at all. You won’t have to wait for any machines or worry about whether or not the people working out next to you can realize how bad you smell. This is just one more way to stay healthy in college.
Last year I would head to Starbucks right after my 8 a.m. classes. Grabbing a coffee and being in a productive state of mind worked wonders for me. Plus, who wants to wait on line at Starbucks in the afternoon with all those 11 a.mers.
At 8 a.m., your phone usually isn’t blowing up with social media notifications and messages from all of your friends (if it is I am so sorry for you). Waking up early and not constantly being distracted by your phone will allow you to get ready faster as well as give you some relaxing quiet time, which is sometimes much needed in college.
Going along with this, because not too many people have 8 a.m. classes, you’re most likely going to be able to get ready in the morning in pure peace and quiet. A relaxing morning leads to a relaxing day.
Another positive of taking an 8 a.m. class is that there is usually hardly anyone on campus at this time! Walking to class at your own pace and not being stuck behind the girl who is non-stop texting is actually way nicer than it sounds. Because I go to school upstate, one of my favorite things is to take in the view of the mountains on my way to my early classes.
So quit giving these 8 a.m.’s such negative connotations! I am here to tell you that you should not be afraid of morning classes! Seize these morning classes’ people; they’re a lot better than they’re put out to be!
